The course provides students with the basic skills and analysis for the use of precision agriculture techniques and technologies (AP) in order to digitize agro-forestry and environmental production processes. The course deals with the principles of the intelligent farming management system and its theoretical, practical and technical bases for an optimal introduction in all the management phases of the agro-forestry chains.

Learning Objectives
Introduce the student to the main techniques and technologies related to precision agriculture (AP) and their methods of adoption on farms for both specialized and open field crops. The course aims to provide the basic principles of sustainable precision agriculture in order to optimize the phases of agricultural mechanization, product transfer and transformation processes. The students will be acquired competencies related to:
- design of innovative business systems based on currently available AP techniques and technologies;
- planning of data mining and data processing;
- planning of analysis processes a set of data with a critical methodology;
- design of digital layouts for farm digitalisation (GIS - Web GIS);
- planning of supply chains based on smart technologies to support decision support at farm level;
The student will acquire skills related to the identification of the most advanced technological innovations and their interconnection intercommunication and implementation in complex agricultural systems (agriculture 4.0). Additional skills are related to the development of digital thematisms useful for the settings of operating machines that work at variable rates and their integration on corporate digital platforms.
