Skills acquired (at the end of the course): Students who successfully complete this course will: - Be able to develop a forest road network planning; - Be able to perform a P-line survey and design the layout of a forest road; - Be able to design a drainage network for a forest road in steep terrain; - Understand the stress-strain effect that vehicle loads have on the road pavement; Understand the behaviour of heavy vehicles on roadways and understand the mitigating effect of a good road design approache; - be able to apply the Best Management Practices for the reduction and mitigation of forest road environmental impacts.
