Entry knowledge test
The entry knowledge test is carried out using the TOLC-AV test - developed by the CISIA consortium - which can be taken starting from the penultimate year of high school.
The TOLC-AV is composed of 50 questions divided into 6 sections: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Logic, Text comprehension. At the end of the TOLC-AV there is a section of 30 questions to test the knowledge of the English language.

Each question in the test provides five possible alternatives, of which one and only one is the right one. The score for each question has three possible values: +1 point for a correct answer, 0 points for a non-answer, -0.25 (minus 0.25) points for an incorrect answer. At the end of the test, an overall score of the TOLC-AV is attributed, calculated as follows:
Test evaluation = math section score + biology bonus + chemistry bonus + physics bonus + logic bonus + text comprehension bonus.
OFAs are considered fulfilled if the total score of the test reaches at least 3 points, deriving from adding to the score of the mathematics section any bonuses obtained in the other sections, with the exception of the English section.
The score in the MATHEMATICS section is calculated by adding the points obtained in the 8 math questions. In each of other sections, excluding English, a bonus of +0.25 is awarded when the sum of the points reported in the questions in the section is greater than or equal to 1.5 while no bonus is awarded in the other cases.
NOTE: Registration for one of the TOLC‐AV sessions is possible until all available places are filled and it is possible to participate in only one TOLC‐AV test during each calendar month.
Calculate your score for UNIFI
Once you have obtained the PDF with the report of the correct answers provided to the test, you can use the spreadsheet prepared to check if the score obtained at the TOLC-AV allows you to enroll without OFA to the School of Agriculture (Calcolo TOLC-AV UniFI )
The TOLC result will be automatically recorded in your academic profile once the enrollment procedure has been completed; therefore, you will not have to send your results to the either the academic or student admin offices, nor will you have to produce any further documents.
How to register for the TOLC-AV test
The test can be done at home or in any of the Universities participating in the program.

How to recover the OFAs
In case of attribution of the "Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo" (educational debt) in mathematics, it will be necessary to enroll and follow the MOOC of
Matematica di base from the
ORIENTAzione portal.
The online math remedial course is made up of 11 lessons, each accompanied by numerous videos, a complete text and final self-test quizzes. In the lessons we aim to explain in a friendly manner, the fundamental concepts of basic mathematics to the students, while through examples and exercises carried out, we want to increase the student's confidence in the mathematical tools and reasoning present in many courses of a scientific nature.
The topics covered are: the language of mathematics, some foundations of set theory and the basic notions of functions, equations, inequalities, analytic geometry, logarithms and exponentials, trigonometry.
The steps to follow for the recovery of the OFA
-
step 1: register for free on the ORIENTAzione portal, university area (click here). Make sure you enter your correct Codice Fiscale (Italian tax ID), that is the one used during the registration phase. If a tax ID other than the one registered during the enrollment phase is entered, the attendance of the MOOC Basic Mathematics course will not be recognized, and you won't be able to pass your OFAs;
-
step 2: once you have logged in, select Approfondisci from the Menu;
-
step 3: click on MOOC Matematica di base and enroll in the "MATEMATICA DI BASE" course and follow all the 11 lessons;
-
step 4: after each lesson you need to take the test and if you pass it you will unlock the next lesson and so on until the end. Please note that the questions do not represent the final test but when you reach the end successfully, you will have made up the OFA;
-
step 5: upon the completion of the MOOC course, after correctly answering the questions in each section, take the screenshot and upload it to GForm (click here)
example of screenshot, included NAME and SURNAME to be uploaded
-
step 6: at the end of the completion, activate the blue button to submit the copy of the answers to the form so that you can later verify and attest to the correct completion of the form. The fulfillment of OFAs will be uploaded into the career manually every 20 days.
n.b. The procedure is not administered by the School, which, therefore, assumes no responsibility for failure to meet the specified timeline.
[ALTERNATIVE to the above procedure] you will be able to register for and take a new TOLC-AV, with successful completion (score higher than the values given above).
Italian language knowledge test
Non-European Union citizens residing abroad, who intend to enroll in a bachelor degree taught in Italian, must take an Italian language knowledge test.
Proof of knowledge of the Italian language for admission to courses is the same for all programs.

Admission test for the degree course in Advanced technologies and transformations for the woodworking and building sector - TEMA Legno
The Professional Degree Course (L-P02) TEMA Legno has a maximum of 35 places. The admission test, in addition to being an entrance knowledge test (with assignment of any OFAs), is compulsory and is carried out in order to draw up the merit list (FAQ) .
Starting from A.Y. 2023/2024, the valid admission test will be the same test chosen for the other degree courses of the School of Agriculture (TOLC-AV), which may also be taken more than once (but no more than once per calendar month).
However, in order to enrol in the TEMA Legno course, students must wait for the publication of the call for applications, submit an application - in accordance with the deadlines and procedures indicated therein - and participate with a TOLC-AV test already taken (only tests taken from January 2023 onwards will be considered) or to be taken by the closing date of the call for applications.
Call for admission to the a.y. 2025-2026
To Be Announced during the month of June 2025
