Description and management systems of the main Italian stands.
For each forest stand type:
ecological characteristics of species and ecotypes, stand structure, regeneration (natural and artificial regeneration - forest nursery production for plantation) and evolutive dynamics, thinnings; in case, conversion system.
Study cases: Mediterranean maquis, naturalization of pine stands, abandoned chestnut orchards, riparian forest.
Field activity: visits in different forest habitat types.

Description and management systems of the main Italian stands (coppices and high forest): holm-oak forest, thermophilous pine forest, deciduous oak forest, chestnut forest (coppices and orchards, black pine forest, Abies alba forest, beech forest, Alpine coniferous forest.
For each forest stand type:
Ecological characteristics of species and ecotypes, stand structure, regeneration (natural and artificial regeneration - elements of forest nursery production for plantation) and evolutive dynamics, intermediate cuttings (thinnings); in case, conversion system.
Study cases: Mediterranean maquis, naturalization of pine stands, abandoned chestnut orchards, riparian forest.
