Unit 1 - Introduction: concepts and definitions; EU regulation and financial incentives for forest tree plantation (mainly native broadleaves species).
Unit 2- Methods of environmental analysis; nursery stock production, cultivation modules.
Unit 3 - Cultivation of relevant species for wood plantation. Broadleaves: poplars, common walnut, wild cherry, maples, ashes, oaks, alnus. Coniferous: Douglas fir, pines.
Unit 4 – Design and manage of short rotation stands
Tree farm stands will be examined.
